No more Memory Space?

studying for exams 150x150 No more Memory Space?Is this a common excuse made by you? Looking at the giant pile of notes you have to dissolve in your brain, and the whole list of formulas you have to remember, it is very common to hear many students giving this excuse nowadays.

Do we really have that much memory capacity in our brain to contain so much stuff? The answer is YES! Our brain is capable of storing any amount of information you desire. Each of your brain cell has higher memory storage that any computer in the world and our brain is made up of billions of them. Research has shown that we usually use yp to only 3% of our brain in our entire lifetime. What a waste!

Our memory worked with association. The best way to memorise things is not to burn your notes and drink them, but associating all the information you have learnt to other things you know. Repetition by itself has little value unless it is accompanied by involvement. If there is no involvement, it just goes in 1 ear and out the other.

Study Tips - Improving your Memory

memory_skillsMemory is critical in all exams. Though schools are directing their questions to more on creative thinking and learning how to apply, memory is still very important in answering many questions. Hence, here are some tips to improve your memory.

 - Convince yourself that your memory is good!

Many students give the excuse that their memory is bad and this caused them to score worse than their peers. The truth is we are all born with exactly the same resources! Think of the meal you eat yesterday. All this unimportant information can be stored in your brain. Hence, your brain do has the capability to store efficiently.

- Jot down all important information in a pocket book. Take this book whereever you go. When you are free, just take it out and revise.

- Turn the things you may forget into questions and try testing them on yourself.

- Get other people to quiz you.
